A tribute of honor and remembrance to the lost souls of The Dead Sea Tragedy 25– 10 – 2018.

Back Story:

On Thursday the 25th of October 2018, a painful tragedy struck Jordan, a trip to Zarqa Ma’in one of The Dead Sea Wadis ended in a tragedy, after sudden heavy rains sent flash floods surging the wadi from higher ground, sweeping the visitors away, some as far as the Dead Sea, which ended with the deaths of 22 and the injury of 43 people, most of the deaths were kids at the age of 13-14.

Project description

Dedicating the site of the tragedy to the souls of the 22 martyrs and transforming it from a space of lose and death into a place where the memories of the souls are embraced and sheltered. A place where the visitor becomes emotionally involved in the story of the victims, the survivors, the heroes, those who were there and forever changed by the event, by creating a Memorial & An Awareness Center in The Dead Sea, benefiting from the universality of The Dead Sea, to help spread the memory of the lost souls on both a global and a local scale, a place which serves to heal, educate and raise awareness over preventing any similar tragedies from happening in the future, shedding a light over the natural phenomena that caused the tragedy; the Flash Floods.

Site Location: Jordan, The Dead Sea.

Project Functions:

1-Awareness Center, which includes:
A) A Guide Center, organizing the tour into the wadi.
B) A Research Center, dedicated to studying the natural phenomena in Jordan, such as the Flash Floods.

2- The Platforms.

3- The Cable car station.

4- The Memorial Museum.
