Family House Verde

Idea projektu

The architecture of the house contributes to the unified and harmonious character of the new residential neighborhood in Prague-Zbraslav. The house is designed as a passive timber structure using a light-frame 2x4 system. It is energy-efficient, with an emphasis on the efficient use of energy, a healthy indoor environment, and sustainability. The house is designed for a family of four with a dog. In terms of layout, it consists of a single residential unit with an area of 219.20 m², but with a minor structural modification, a second unit — a studio apartment with sanitary facilities — can be created. On the ground floor, there is a spacious living room with a kitchen area. The staircase protrudes into this space, and underneath it, a workspace and a cozy spot for the dog have been created. From the kitchen, hidden doors lead to a spacious pantry, which can also serve as a storage room. Also on the ground floor is a guest room with its own bathroom, a separate toilet, a storage room for gardening tools, bicycles, and car-related items. Additionally, there is a studio with its own toilet. This studio can be converted into a second residential unit, with its own entrance, vestibule, and bathroom, by adding a partition wall. Upstairs, there are children’s bedrooms, their bathroom, a utility room with a laundry area, and the parents’ bedroom with a walk-in closet and private bathroom.

Popis projektu

The subject of the thesis was the design of a detached family house for a family of four in Prague-Zbraslav. The thesis includes an architectural study, selected parts of the project documentation at the level required for building permit approval and construction execution, as well as the concept of the technological solution.

Technické informace

The building has a roughly T-shaped floor plan. The rectangular part of the building measures 18 × 6.5 meters, and it is connected to another part measuring 7.5 × 7 meters. The rectangular section is covered with a pitched roof with a ridge height of 8.31 meters above ground level, while the other section has a flat green roof situated 3.66 meters above ground level. The reference height ±0.000 corresponds to 197.500 meters above sea level (B.p.V.). The building has two above-ground floors. The structural system of the building is designed as a light timber frame system based on the 2x4 method. Foundations The building is founded on a reinforced concrete slab with a thickness of 250 mm. Below the slab is a layer system consisting of waterproofing and thermal insulation made of XPS boards laid on a concrete screed. The total foundation depth is 0.6 m. Columns located outside the foundation slab are placed on individual concrete footings and connected via steel brackets. Vertical Structures All exterior and interior vertical structures are designed as light timber frame constructions with wooden studs measuring 120 × 60 mm. In the living room and kitchen area, the vertical structure is supplemented with larger load-bearing columns (200 × 120 mm and 120 × 120 mm) that support the ceiling structure. Additionally, there is a 124 mm thick CLT (cross-laminated timber) panel by Novatop, which serves as a load-bearing element for the staircase structure. Horizontal Structures The ceiling and flat roof structures are designed as wooden beam ceilings covered with OSB boards. The ceiling beams measure 160 × 60 mm. In the living room and kitchen area, the structure is reinforced with larger wooden beams measuring 200 × 120 mm to reduce the span of the standard ceiling system. These beams are supported by 200 × 120 mm columns and diagonal posts measuring 120 × 120 mm. Roof Structure The roof structure is made of wooden I-joists measuring 40 × 60 mm with a height of 320 mm. These are supported by the perimeter walls. At the ridge, the structure is supported by a ridge beam and additionally reinforced with a collar tie.
