Nová obytná čtvrť Praha - Sedlec
Idea projektu
The area under consideration is located in the Sedlec part of Prague and is defined by several important features - Kamýcká Street in the north, a massif of tall greenery in the west, the Podbabská Rocks natural monument (which also includes the Vltava Canyon near Sedlec, a European significant site) and a significant terrain break in the south and rocks, a 'basin' and a railway line in the east. The area has preserved the area of the original water reservoir, which was designed as underground. The existing heating plant chimney was also preserved. The main points of the design concept were to move away from the busy Kamýcká Street and at the same time from the southern terrain break, which could create space for a park with a viewing trail along the edge of the area, which can offer many interesting views of Prague. The existing massif of greenery in the west was also extended along the southern edge and connected via a biobridge to the greenery in the north. Greenery was also added between the designed development and Kamýcká Street as a noise barrier.
Popis projektu
The development was designed in an orthogonal grid and uses block development, individual point apartment buildings and also tower apartment buildings with pedestals. The complexes of these tower buildings are the main theme of the concept - they spill over the pronounced terrain edge into the 'basin' in the east and the main pedestrian route from the main square is also led through them. The square is delimited by block development, a school and a library on all sides and the main road runs through it (calming by changing the direct direction). The development in the northeast of the area is tall, rather urban in character, more compact, with many amenity functions and a high population density, while in the southwest the development is lower, fragmented, with the main function of housing and smoothly transitions into a park with greenery - to a completely natural character. Two public spaces are designed in the park - around the existing chimney and in the southwest - which can be used to organize various events.
Technické informace
The development was designed with a number of floors ranging from 3 to 16. Roofs are mostly designed as walkable terraces or as vegetation terraces. Parking is designed for the majority of the population in underground garages.
