Idea projektu
Assignment was the design of a nursery in the village of Bochoř, located near Přerov in Czech Republic. The required capacity of the nursery was for a minimum of 56 children with the possibility of expansion. The nursery was designed with two separate classrooms for 24 to 28 children, a dining room, space for staff and the possibility of expansion in the multi-purpose community hall in the main building. There is also a sauna serving the nursery and the residents of the village. The building has been designed to be wheelchair accessible. The design also included an outdoor space for the nursery and sufficient parking, which is currently lacking on the site.
Popis projektu
The building is divided into two main buildings. The first serves as a background for the kindergarten and a public building with a sauna and multipurpose halls. The mass of the Community Building follows the traditional archetype of buildings in the village. The building is single storey with a residential attic with a ridge oriented along the road. The metal roofing on the building is overlaid on the facade, creating a solid and monotonous crust. This idea is also complemented by the windows that transition from the facade to the roof. The main idea was to distinguish the public amenities from the residential buildings. The highlighting of the gable with wooden slats also serves this purpose. The second building is a separate classroom and dining room. These have typical stucco plasterwork but are distinguished by a flat vegetated roof. The nursery building is small and bland in white render with prominent large glazing on the west side facing the garden. The classroom glazing is obscured by the cantilevered roof. A communal courtyard accessed from the dining hall has been placed between the classroom pavilions. The courtyard is partially shaded by climbing plants on cables. As part of an assignment architectural detail – a bench integrated into the façade in front of the kindergarten entrance. As part of the assignment, we were also required to build the detail as a 1:1 physical model, which helped verify the construction logic and material behavior at full scale. The bench connects the public space with the interior and serves children, parents, and passers-by as a place to rest and meet. It follows the dynamic lines of the façade with vertical slat cladding and is composed of triangular elements made of three-layer solid wood panels, alternating with the slats. This creates a light, airy, and safe design. Colored seats add a playful element and indicate different seating heights – lower for children, higher for adults. The structure is anchored into the supporting layer through insulation, with attention to ventilation and easy maintenance. Seats are suspended using a mounting system that allows for quick replacement. The design balances aesthetics, functionality, and user comfort.
Technické informace
It is a wall construction system. The building is based on reinforced concrete foundations. The load-bearing walls on the first floor are made of sand-lime blocks supplemented by partitions made of sand-lime blocks. The ceiling above the nursery, which serves as an extensive vegetated roof, is made of prestressed ceiling panels. The ceiling above the first floor of the main building is of reinforced concrete slab. This forms a cantilevered canopy to the south, the reinforcement of which is drawn into the transverse load-bearing walls. The concrete ceiling is connected to the reinforced concrete slab. The roof is supported by massive BSH profiles reinforced with steel beams and anchored into the supporting structure. Fibre cement boards were designed for the façade and roof cladding of the main building. All opening fillers are wood-aluminium with triple glazing in wood.
