Vinárna pro Senior-park Bažantnice

Idea projektu

This project addresses a deficiency in public amenities for the Senior-park Bažantnice. My proposal introduces a compact, yet integral, wine bar meticulously designed to seamlessly integrate with the existing senior living facility. Objective of this design was to ingeniously overcome the height difference of the site, thereby ensuring barrier-free access for residents, directly connecting the senior living facility to the natural landscape of Bažantnice park - an area that would otherwise be exceedingly difficult to access from this location. Concurrently, the establishment creates a tranquil retreat and a welcoming space for social interaction and relaxation.

Popis projektu

This project is designed across two distinct levels. The first floor is readily accessible from the public grounds of the senior-park complex and also directly from the main entrance hall of the senior living facility. The second floor can be accessed both from the senior living facility's existing terrace and directly from the natural park reserve. This strategic two-level design thus ensures a seamless transition between these varied environments. Furthermore, the roof of the proposed wine bar serves a dual purpose for the senior living facility: it functions as a communal terrace, offering residents expansive views into both the Bažantnice natural park and the broader senior park complex, enhancing their opportunities for social engagement and enjoyment of the surroundings.

Technické informace

The architectural expression of the building is defined by a thoughtful duality of materials. Areas designated for public interaction and panoramic viewing are enveloped in a lightweight curtain wall system, maximizing transparency and connection to the surrounding environment. In stark contrast, sections of the structure that are recessed into the existing terrain and dedicated to wine storage are constructed from robust, solid concrete walls, ensuring optimal thermal stability and security. The first floor is crowned by a flat, walkable roof without an attic, which seamlessly transitions into an expansive terrace. This level incorporates fewer green areas to maximize space for pedestrian movement. Conversely, the second-floor roof, intended exclusively for the senior living facility and not the wine bar, also features a terrace, but with more extensive green landscaping. This terrace is delineated from the roof edge by elevated green planters, adding a layer of verdant integration. The external staircase, designed to navigate the height difference of the site, is supported by gabion retaining walls, providing both structural integrity and a distinctive textural element.
