Dvorec Medov v Heřmanově Městci

Idea projektu

The theme of the studio work is to create an architectural study of the restoration of the Medov Farmstead, including a proposal for the new use of the former manor house. The building is located on Masaryk Square, No. 33, in Heřmanův Městec, Pardubice Region. It is a large four-winged building opposite the castle, mostly from the 17th century with a complex construction development. The building stands on a practically flat plot. Masaryk Square and Heřmanův Městec Castle are in the immediate vicinity. The building will serve the purposes of the Primary Art School and its needs.

Popis projektu

The original building will be used for the purposes and needs of the Primary Art School. The building will include facilities for dance, art and music. The main courtyard is paved with pavers and is complemented by two rectangular grassy areas, which are complemented by an existing tree and two smaller, newly planted trees. This arrangement provides a pleasant and aesthetically pleasing environment that also allows for relaxation and recreation. An adjacent courtyard serves as parking spaces for employees and residents of the building. In addition to the parking spaces, there are smaller grassy areas which are complemented by greenery in the form of trees and shrubs. This arrangement contributes to the overall improvement of the environment and provides a pleasant place to stay. The square is equipped with a large paved multifunctional area that is suitable for various activities and events. Strips of green are planted around the edges of the square, which contributes to the aesthetic impression and improves the quality of the environment. Perpendicular parking is provided on the south side of the square, which helps to optimise the use of the space while ensuring convenience and accessibility of parking spaces. For the dance department, a spacious dance hall and a dressing room with a sufficient number of lockers, supplemented by a shower for hygiene after practice, is crucial. The art department requires a classroom for at least 15 pupils. Specific teaching spaces are required for the music branch. A rehearsal room is also necessary. In order for the school to hold concerts and rehearsals, it is necessary to have a concert hall for the orchestra. There is also a need to have facilities for the running of the school such as a director's office, instrument storage and archives, and facilities for the janitor and cleaners.

Technické informace

The scope of the reconstruction is chosen to ensure primarily the layout and operational cleanliness of the building. The second most important is the restoration of the external appearance of the building. This will mainly consist of new plastering and elements of the façade (cornices, cornices, lozenges, plinth), replacement of some window openings, new roofing, plastering of the chimneys and painting of the downpipes. The third intervention in the building space is the construction of two new technical rectangular systems. One of them serves as sanitary facilities, while the other one has a staircase with a lift and a technical room.
