Idea projektu
The architectural study focuses on the reconstruction of the interiors of the GML - Matyáš Lerch Gymnasium, addressing layout and operational changes with a focus on the entrance foyer, adjacent spaces on the first floor, common halls and corridors on the upper floors, and a new arrangement of the student welfare facilities. The design emphasises the selection of appropriate furnishings, material and colour solutions, acoustic comfort and overall interior redesign. The functional use of the space is intended for education and leisure activities. The study also conceptually addresses the redesign of the entrance portal with a new access system. Emphasis is placed on the aesthetic and functional rendering of the interior elements, with the majority of the drawings addressing the details of the design and presentation of the interior space.

The reconstruction focuses on revitalizing mainly the rest rooms. The modifications begin in the school's vestibule, where the façade is changed and two carousel doors are proposed, followed by turnstiles and new reception facilities. This will be followed by the refurbishment of the downstairs club, which will be made more comfortable with the addition of reclining tables and seating with a foosball table. In the foyer, the original semi-circular roofing will be replaced with a raised rectangular roof with side lighting, and the space will be fitted with modular furniture. A smaller cloakroom will be created in the former room used for the dispensing of food vouchers, which will be used to store backpacks. The dining room undergoes a major transformation - the removal of the suspended ceilings reveals the ceiling structure, making the space visually larger and more unified. At the same time, there will be the removal of the partitions and the replacement of the dining area, it will be replaced with tables of four and six seats with two height levels, at classic and bar height. All floors will be completely refurbished with sanitary facilities. On floors 2, 3 and 4, the areas by the staircases are being refurbished and made more comfortable and will now serve as smaller relaxation and rest areas. Furthermore, the corridors are being unified and brightened up - door bays are being removed and the original door openings are being replaced with full-face, ceiling-height, non-offset doors, which will increase light transmission and the overall clarity of the spaces.
Technické informace
The intervention in the construction is mainly in the foyer where the already mentioned semicircular roofing will be replaced by a flat construction with side lighting with significantly better thermal technical properties. Structural intervention will also be made throughout the toilet area. The vestibule will be re-floored with large format tiles with an emphasis on durability and ease of maintenance. In the other renovated rooms, marmoleum will be laid over the original tiles - the colour scheme will always be adapted to the specific function and character of the room. The furniture used will be light, mobile and easy to handle. In the relaxation zones, the furniture will be deliberately combined and alternated to create a diverse micro-environment that promotes relaxation, study and socialising for students. The whole will be complemented by game elements in the form of billiards and table football
