The subject of the architectural study is the creation of a design for two residential buildings with service apartments for the necessary professions in the town of Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou. The main idea is to create a timeless architectural form of housing that is in symbiosis with the context of the place and prefers efficiency in the formation of spaces for living.

Urban design The area is located in the western part of the town of Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou in the South Moravian Region, on Nerudova Street. It is a quiet part of the town. Surrounding buildings consist mainly of family houses, but also apartment houses. The area is situated on flat and slightly sloping terrain. The buildings are placed on the land so that they are connected to the existing roads. Parking for both properties is located on adjacent surrounding land. There is a café, restaurant, supermarket, indoor swimming pool or bus stop in the vicinity of the site. The town centre is within walking distance of 400 m. Architectural design Both buildings are placed on the land so that they are connected to the existing roads and at the same time provide convenient access to the buildings. The parking lot is located on the surrounding plot, west of Building A. BUILDING A This is a building with 4 floors above ground and 1 underground. It has a simple rectangular plan and a cuboid shape which is distorted by the removal of mass to create loggias and terraces. The individual rooms are illuminated by longitudinal windows that correspond to the shape of the building. Access to the loggia or terrace is provided from the living room and the bedroom. The building is covered with a flat roof. The last floor is distinguished from the others by a cement-bonded chipboard cladding. BUILDING B The building has a total of 4 floors, 3 of which are above ground and 1 underground. This number is chosen so that the building fits in better with the surrounding buildings, which are already on the plot. As with Building A, the building is covered by a flat roof and the top floor is clad in cement-bonded chipboard. Layout The entrance to both buildings is always on the east side of the respective building. On the underground floor there are cellars, a utility room, a cleaning room, storeroom and a room for bicycles. In Building A, these facilities are supplemented by a laundry and drying room. The individual apartments have, according to their layout, a separate kitchen and bathroom, a living room, a hallway with storage space and a certain number of rooms. BUILDING A The 1st floor is symmetrically divided into two flats of 2+1 layout. The second and third floors are identical. Compared to the 1st floor are supplemented by an apartment with layout 1+KK. The apartments on these three floors have a spacious corner loggia. The last floor is divided into two apartments of 2+1 and 4+1 layout. Both apartments are complemented by a generous terrace. All floors are connected by a three-arm staircase and an elevator. There are a total of 10 apartments in the building. BUILDING B In the common areas of the 1st floor there is a cleaning room and a double staircase connecting all floors of the building. The floor is symmetrically divided into two apartments of 2+KK. The other floors are identical to the 1st floor, with the difference that in the place where the vestibule and the cleaning room are located, the apartments are extended by storage spaces. In total, there are 6 apartments in the building.
Technické informace
The perimeter bearing walls are made of Porotherm 30 Profi bricks 300 mm thick. The outer load-bearing walls are made of Porotherm 30 AKU Z bricks. The space is further subdivided by partitions of 150 mm thickness. The ceiling structures are made of monolithic reinforced concrete slabs of 200 mm thickness. The walls of the elevator shaft of 250 mm thickness and pillars of 300x300 mm, supporting the construction of the loggia, are also made of reinforced concrete. The foundation structure consists of reinforced concrete footings and reinforced concrete piles. Both buildings are covered with a flat roof. The perimeter structures are covered with white silicone plaster. The last storey is clad with 100 mm wide RAL 1035 cement-bonded chipboard. The entrance doors and windows are aluminium. The access roads and parking lot are paved.
