The pavilion is a powerful, conceptually clear structure that evokes traditional Amazonian stilt houses through its elevated form and tactile materials. Its compact square footprint and central pond create an immersive, inward-looking experience reminiscent of Peter Zumthor’s 2011 Serpentine Pavilion — a calm, contemplative space centered around nature.
However, the use of a fully glazed roof feels at odds with the project’s dense, enclosed atmosphere. In such a strong and immersive environment, filtered or indirect light would better support the intended mood and thermal comfort.
Overall, the project stands out for its sensitive material palette, rational layout, and the balance it strikes between cultural narrative and architectural clarity.
Dear Roberto Zanini,
Thank you for your thoughtful and constructive feedback. I really appreciate the time you took to review my project and share your perspective.
