SPP office

Idea projektu

The assignment was to design the representative spaces of the SPP company, my idea was to do something simple but at the same time something that when people see it, they will say that it is not something common in such spaces and it will interest them.

Popis projektu

In this semester topic, we designed the representative spaces of SPP. I focused on modernizing the spaces with the aim of creating a representative and functional environment equipped with modern technologies. According to the given requirements, I designed a space that connects all the rooms with the aim of achieving a unified and aesthetic and functional experience. The design is based on the harmony between modern elements, natural materials and a minimalist approach. Each room fulfills its own function, but at the same time fits into the overall concept of the space. The main room is the Foyer, where I chose perforated metal with acoustic foam, which is also backlit. I rounded the corners of the room to make them appear softer, since I chose metal, which has a cold appearance. The requirements also included that smaller events can be held in the Foyer, so I chose a retractable data projector with a screen, which is not visible in a normal situation. The second room is the Morava meeting room, where various meetings or negotiations are held, and that's why I chose wooden cladding, and in some places I replaced it with perforated wood. Since the foyer represents me, I didn't want to put the same elements in Moravia, because it could interfere with work, and that's why I kept it simple. The next room is Salon 1 and 2, which we can divide into 2 separate spaces for 12 people. Food is primarily consumed here, so I also left the design in wood, and basically left the original design, only I replaced the wood with a more modern one. The last space I focused on is the Creative Meeting Room, where various trainings or interviews are held, and that's why it should also be a bit representative, and that's why I chose perforated metal with acoustic blue foam here too.

Technické informácie

The headquarters of Slovenský plynárenský priemysel (SPP) is located at Mlynské nivy 44/a in Bratislava – Ružinov, in the emerging Nové Nivy district, right next to Nivy Tower and the Nivy bus terminal. This is a significant office building constructed between 2007 and 2009, with a total investment of approximately €34.7 million. The building consists of a ground floor, 5 above-ground floors, and 1 underground level, offering office space for around 400 employees, along with a customer service center, conference facilities for up to 200 people, an art gallery, a kindergarten, and technical infrastructure. The underground level provides parking for approximately 230 vehicles. Architecturally, the building has a modern yet conservative design that harmonizes with its surroundings. It features a double facade with alternating light and dark elements, using high-quality materials and a strong emphasis on technology. The project was designed by Ing. arch. Pavol Franko, Radoslav Grečmal, Martin Nedoba, and Pavol Čechvala. The general designer was the firm Siebert + Talaš, and construction was carried out by HORNEX, a.s. The building includes rooftop gardens covering approximately 2,454 m² and green exterior areas of about 2,667 m², contributing to sustainability and a pleasant working environment. The total floor area is around 15,937 m², with office spaces making up approximately 4,407 m². The SPP building is a key part of the Nové Nivy district, which is developing into a new urban center of Bratislava with a focus on sustainability, greenery, and excellent transport connectivity. Thanks to its location and functional design, it is considered one of the city's high-quality office developments.
