Idea projektu
This project explores the dialogue between historical permanence and contemporary lightness by integrating a new timber structure atop the existing baroque castle. Inspired by the surrounding landscape and the form of traditional wooden structures, the addition inhabits a dynamic cultural and congress center, library and a 3 star hotel.
Popis projektu
The intervention respects the original architecture while offering transparent, flexible, and sustainable spaces that serve present-day needs. At the heart of the design lies a vibrant core. The conference and social center dedicated to meetings, dialogue, and exchange, anchoring the program and fostering connection. The result is a harmonious layering of past and future as a lighter architecture rooted in place and purpose.
Technické informácie
The project utilizes a hybrid timber construction system centered on CLT panels and Glulam frames to achieve lightweight, sustainable architecture with minimal impact on the historic castle and other buildings on the site. The roof addition features CLT floors and walls paired with Glulam beams for long spans, while the orangery uses an exposed post-and-beam timber grid with glazed infill. Prefabricated timber elements allow for reversible, low-impact assembly atop existing structures. High-performance timber-framed glazing, natural ventilation, and wood-fiber insulation support energy efficiency.
