Croatian Cultural Center, Jarovce

Idea projektu

The architectural design reflects and abstracts elements of Croatian culture, such as the traditional color scheme of architectural features like windows and shutters, represented through colored window and door elements, as well as a shading element with a pattern inspired by Croatian folk motifs. The massing of the building responds to the surrounding development and the adjacent plots and their functions. The form of the building also reacts to the plot boundary, which influenced the layout shape of the structure.

Popis projektu

The design does not preserve the original structure, as the municipality plans its demolition. The building is divided into two structures, forming two functional units. On the left side of the plot is the library and creative center, which also includes a restaurant and an information center. The second structure houses a community hall, café, and a yoga center. Both buildings are oriented toward the courtyard and the green park located on the southern side of the plot, offering pleasant views into the surrounding greenery.

Technické informácie

Both buildings use a wall-bearing structural system, with reinforced concrete walls. The floor slabs are also made of reinforced concrete. On the façade, a horizontal load-bearing structure is installed for anchoring shading panels. The restaurant building on the ground floor includes load-bearing circular columns to support large glazed areas on the façade. The community hall spans two floors, and reinforced concrete beams following the roof slope are designed as part of the load-bearing system.
