On the edge
The assignment of this bachelor's thesis is a new construction of a suburban family house for a family of four with two cars and two cats in "the hearth of Europe"-Prague. The man is the manager of the Czech international company, the woman is a financial advisor. Children require separate rooms, ample storage space and a shared dressing room. Father is a lover of electronic music, so he requires a home recording studio. Family owns BMW X5 and BMW X3 cars that they would like to garage.
The object solved in the passive standard reflects the environment in which it is located. Interferes uncompromisingly with it. Clearly defines spaces. Has a clear attitude towards its surroundings, but deep inside it looks completely different. It perceives the garden as another living room. House in the wall, wall in the house. The building is located on the southern edge of the plot, so as to create a "barrier" between the future busy street and the new built-up area. The concept of the family house is based on the contrast of the massive base, which forms the interface between the public space and the intimite garden space and the fragile superstructure of the penthouse. The house turns to itself. The center is the garden area. The object looks modestly into the public space, but opens its arms to the garden. The design creates a harmonious, intimate place for the whole family right at the gate to the new location. The house was designed with inverted disposition. Night part is in the 1st floor, daily part in upstairs.
All operations in the 1st floor are united by reinforced concrete monolithic ceiling slab. Construction system of 1st floor contains of sand-lime and concrete block. Construction system of 2nd floor is wooden, system 2x4. Materials visible in the project are exposed concrete, trapezoidal sheet metal, facade textile, larch cladding, plywood, concrete blocks.
