Milicin square

The task of the urban study of public spaces was to solve three localities in the village of Miličín. A more detailed proposal deals with the main square and conceptually the areas at the passage of the village are solved. Road currently passes diagonally through the square, in the study there is a proposal for the management of this road around the western and southern buildings, in the north the square is newly served by pedestrian zone. The design of the new square envisages the preservation of valuable greenery. The grassy areas are designed to such an extent that the square respects the fact that, given the size of Miličín, it is more of a village square. The area of the current square was divided into three parts: the main assembly area in front of the town hall, a quiet garden under the town hall - separated from the main area - and a living area with game elements and a café. The park part is therefore separated by a height difference of about three meters from the main gathering area, so it is a really quiet part used for relaxation and rest in the greenery. In this area, it is planned to preserve some of the original trees.

In order to make the main area of the square more usable and universal, landscaping is proposed here, which will level the areas in front of the town hall. This will create space for underground garages, the entrance to which will be in the direction from the park under the town hall and will therefore not disturb the appearance of the square itself. The area in front of the town hall will then be usable for most cultural events such as farmers' markets, festivities, but also larger concerts. A residential staircase replacing a part of the portable seating area is also adapted for these purposes. This staircase is directly passable in two places, the rest of the surface is then completed with concrete blocks to sit. Just above the residential staircase is located grassy area usable as a playground with another staircase leading to the cafe. Around the cafe there is a passage through the square to the store and to other parts of the village. The sidewalks are branched so that everyone can find their own comfortable and shortest direction. Less important strokes are represented by threshing paths in the greenery, the more important ones are then paved.

A roundabout is proposed in the village to replace the current intersection. The location of the detour and dimensions are used from the project documentation provided by the municipality. The location at the gas station is a problematic place in the village. Currently, the area is without greenery and the space is inappropriately used for parking. The proposal also addresses the municipality's request for a new bus station. The existing development is complemented by a building with possible commercial use, which together with the station building closes the corridor for communication. The land behind the church is designed because there is a dilapidated building, which is in a visible place and is therefore a negative element in different views of the village. The proposed construction is therefore intended to provide the municipality with additional facilities for civic amenities and parking by the main road and at the same time temporarily cover the unsuitable construction.
