Reading pavilion

The aim of this project is to have a new place for people to meet through this small architecture - reading pavilion. Also, the pavilion offers its visitors to borrow book from the shelf and then relax on one of the many benches. What is more, this object is situated in a small park around the church in a town Klánovice. The city itself has no square for organizing cultural events. It could be changed with the park area and with my proposed project. My main inspiration came from trees and forest. Forest is quite important for the town Klánovice. In history, a whole area was one huge forest and it is still evident today. There are a relatively large number of trees on plots with houses or public buildings. These trees then pass from the built-up area back into the forest. All in all, my project hopes to help the park environment, create a meeting place and give motivation to develop this environment for example with other objects.

My proposed project consists of the following parts. Main part is roofed and lined with wooden boards. In this area are situated small public libraries with books. Footbridges lead from the main part to two adjacent trees. I created a circular and semi-circular relaxation zone around the trees. There are benches on both footbridges and in the relaxation zones too. The object with footbridges is slightly raised above the ground. To overcome the height difference, I designed ramps together with stairs.

The construction of the building is made of steel pipes that are welded together. Wooden boards are laid on the steel structure as a facade. The floor, benches and roof are also wooden.
