Miris Garden

The idea is to create a marina that provides services, reflects traditional architecture and does not destroy the beauty of the bay. The building is therefore partially submerged in the ground, leaves only the roof and facades visible. The roof is considered as green, with local plants. As traditional elements, we have local stone, wood and sails used on the boardwalk.

The bay in which the marina is located is located a short distance north of Starigrad. The bay has a beautiful natural character, which was taken into account in the design. The object is specifically located on the eastern shore of the bay. Thanks to this position, the facades are not directly illuminated at midday, and in the evening you can see the sunset over the sea. The north shore is left natural, with only a road to the sea and to the rest of the complex. At the top of the bay there is an amphitheater, where it is possible to organize smaller cultural events, and at the same time it serves as an entrance to the park. The shape of the building is based on a curve copying the shape of the coast. This curve is followed by the promenade and the adjacent facade of the building. The promenade is shielded with wooden slats and partly with sails. The promenade is made of local stone, along which rocks and stones are left in the water, which create a natural character and at the same time serve as a breakwater in the part by the open sea. The facade consists of large glazed surfaces and entrances, which are made of wood and steel glazed rotating panels. The panels with the support beams of the shading serve together as lighting. The roof is left green with a walkway, making it more than one way to move around. At the same time, the path serves as access to the accommodation on the 2nd floor, which is oriented to the west.

Main material for the building is reinforced concrete. Supplying is provided through underground corridor in back of the building, which connects to rest of paths on southeast side of building.
