Sports Arena Prague, Lužiny

The facility is part of a new sports and educational complex that offers a wide range of activities to the public. In addition to the arena for professional indoor sports, the new buildings provide accommodation in the form of a hotel, recreational facilities in an aqua center, and educational activities. The arena is designed to host a professional home team and has sufficient facilities for professional matches. It also offers the opportunity to use the arena for children or interest groups. Thanks to telescopic stands, cultural and social events can be held there.

The stadium is divided into two main zones: the visitor area and the facilities for athletes and staff. On the ground floor, there is a large entrance hall for visitors, facilities for staff, athletes, and technical equipment of the building. The first floor is intended for visitors. The third floor is designated for VIP guests. In the basement, there is a spacious parking area.

The structure is designed as a reinforced concrete skeleton that supports the load of the stands. The stands are composed of a ribbed structure onto which prefabricated reinforced concrete elements are placed. Part of the building is cantilevered to prevent the structure from appearing too massive, and this cantilevered section also provides a covered space in front of the entrance. The building features metal lamellas that serve as effective shading devices, and their height helps to conceal the building services units located on the roof.
