Theatre in Mladá Boleslav

The design of the new theater in Mladá Boleslav follows on from pre-diploma project of urban design undeveloped area near Štěpánka park. The theater building is designed as one of the landmarks new square and is located at its end. The concept of the building is a contrast of two different masses, a light structure made of glass (the central part of the building) and a massive structure that surrounds the central glass part. To achieve the integrity of the massive structure, a perforated steel facade was used, which allows light to pass through and at the same time hides the window openings.

Two halls are designed within the building, a large hall theater for 500 people and a small umiversal hall, which it can be modified according to the wishes of the visitors for the event concerts, dances, balls, fashion shows. An unforgettable part of a small hall is its own facilities such as changing rooms, warehouses, technical rooms and a bar in the hall area. An integral part of a large theater the hall has its own facilities for performers, offices, day room rooms, make-up rooms, dressing rooms, costume warehouses. Locker rooms for visitors they are located in the 1st NP directly opposite running. The bar for the large hall is located on the 1st floor and on the 3rd floor in the entrance atrium. In the underground parts of the storerooms, stage and orchestra technology and technical rooms. The main entrance to the building is from the east side and directly it connects to the square and its axis, which leads from the park Stepanka. The building has two service entrances from the west sides for the small hall and north sides for the great hall. Access to the underground garages is from the west side. The underground garages are located in two parts. It is located on the south side of the building outside of the halls a cafe that also operates outside the theater. During a theater performance, the operation of the cafe is determined for show goers only. Outside the show the cafe is open to everyone and in good weather it is it is possible to sit on the south terrace.

As already mentioned above, the building consists of two parts, which are made of different materials. The central part is made up of a light lattice structure on which the glass facade is anchored. The massive part of building is made of reinforced concrete. The underground floors are also designed from reinforced concrete construction. The roof structure is formed using steel trusses. The roof structure is used for the placement of photovoltaic panels.
