This project proposes a large cultural and entertainment complex on Green Island in Rostov-on-Don, anchored by a transformable circus hall-arena for up to 2,200 spectators. The building’s dynamic shell form, elevated six meters above ground, creates opportunities for public interaction beneath the structure. The use of pneumatic membranes allows the envelope to change configurations—functioning as a media screen or exhibition space—adding flexibility to its public programming. The inclusion of a funicular station reflects a wider ambition to integrate transportation and cultural functions.
However, while the conceptual ambition is evident, the project would benefit from more development in spatial articulation, structural logic, and user experience. The transition between interior and exterior spaces lacks clarity, and the detailing of circulation and accessibility within the building needs further resolution. Additionally, more robust technical and material descriptions would strengthen the feasibility of the proposal. With refinement, this scheme could evolve into a meaningful urban and cultural landmark.
