La Houle presents a convincing reinterpretation of the contemporary library, positioning it as a civic interior rather than a purely silent institution. The project is particularly strong in its spatial sequencing, where the central agora operates as a clear architectural anchor, successfully mediating between collective activity and moments of individual retreat. This balance is not only conceptual but spatially legible through section, volume, and light. The architectural language is consistent and well-resolved, with the structural system playing an active role in shaping spatial experience rather than acting as a neutral support. The interior atmosphere, especially in the reading spaces and circulation areas, demonstrates careful attention to scale, human presence, and inclusivity. The project communicates its intentions clearly through drawings and renders, allowing the architecture to speak without excessive explanation.Overall, La Houle reflects a mature design approach that combines social ambition, spatial clarity, and technical exploration, making it a strong academic proposal within its typology.

My advice is to further strengthen the project by sharpening the hierarchy between primary and secondary spaces. While the spatial richness is a key quality, certain areas would benefit from clearer differentiation in scale or architectural emphasis, allowing the main communal spaces to read more decisively against the quieter zones.
Additionally, the exploration of 3D printed concrete is promising, but its architectural logic could be articulated more directly through sections and details, clarifying how structure, fabrication, and space mutually inform one another. A deeper reflection on long-term adaptability—how the library may evolve with changing patterns of use—would also reinforce the project’s relevance as a civic building. Finally, simplifying some of the visual communication and focusing on fewer, stronger diagrams would enhance the project’s clarity and confidence when presented to an international jury.
