This project commendably addresses a critical and underrepresented user group—children with neurodevelopmental disorders—through a design that emphasizes sensory modulation and cognitive support. The integration of therapeutic, educational, and residential functions is thoughtfully conceived. However, the architectural articulation remains somewhat generic, and the spatial transitions, while described, are not convincingly visualized or detailed. The connection between behavioral science and built form could be more deeply integrated. Additionally, the aesthetic language of the proposal could be enriched to better reflect the sensory goals. It is a socially valuable project that would benefit from further design development and stronger architectural expression.
Dear Tamer ElSerafi,
Thank you for taking the time to comment on
my thesis project. I truly appreciate your
thoughtful criticism and completely agree
with your point regarding the need for more detailed design development.
As a studio project, time constraints limited how much of my concept I was able to fully realize. However, I sincerely hope to develop and refine this project further in the future.
I'm truly grateful for your insights.
Warm regards,
Mubasshira Maahjabeen Lamya
