In the peri-urban area of Jalma Union, Khulna, a community faced numerous challenges such as access to clean water, traffic accidents, and a lack of medical facilities. Through Focus Group Discussions (FGD), it became evident that the most critical issue was inadequate medical care during pregnancy and child healthcare. Addressing this urgent need, the Women and Child Healthcare project was conceived. The design aims to provide comprehensive healthcare services, focusing on maternal and child health, while integrating recreational and community spaces to promote overall well-being. By leveraging local resources and community input, the project seeks to create a sustainable, culturally sensitive, and accessible healthcare facility.

The Women and Child Healthcare project incorporates innovative design features tailored to enhance both functionality and user experience. The facility's layout includes dedicated spaces for antenatal and postnatal care, ensuring seamless transitions and privacy for patients. Courtyards and semi-outdoor waiting areas provide a soothing environment, integrating natural elements to promote healing and relaxation.
