Architecture and Sustainability more
I appreciate the innovative concept behind the design of the secondary school in Famagusta, Northern Cyprus. The focus on addressing social conflicts through oratory from an early age is a timely and relevant approach, especially in today’s world. The metaphor of Tetris, where pieces must fit together to form a complete structure, is a clever reflection of both the architectural layout and the idea of human communication. The open-classroom design encourages collaboration and flexibility, and the inclusion of interactive panels on the floors and roofs adds an exciting, immersive element to the environment.
The choice of a short-span steel structure makes sense, particularly in terms of sustainability and functionality. Steel offers the necessary flexibility and durability to accommodate the school’s needs while aligning with the environmental goals of using locally available materials. The design does a great job of balancing the futuristic and eco-conscious vision with practical considerations, ensuring that the space is not only adaptable but also long-lasting.
The plans, graphics, and perspectives presented in the proposal are well-executed, offering a clear and engaging visual representation of the concept. The interactive panels and immersive features are highlighted effectively in the visuals, showing how they’ll work within the space. To enhance the proposal even further, it would be interesting to see more detail on how artificial intelligence will be integrated beyond the interactive elements, particularly in the classroom experience.
This project shows great potential in rethinking how education can engage with technology, sustainability, and social development.
Thank you, Kristina Galkina, for sharing such a thoughtful and forward-thinking design!
