Hello,
Your project, Wieliczka Hub, is a fantastic example of hybrid architecture, merging functionality with cultural value. The combination of a parking facility and art gallery is a unique and thoughtful approach to addressing the urban challenges of space utilization and access to public transport while promoting art and culture.
The integration of terraces and greenery throughout the building not only enhances the user experience but also creates a pleasant, sustainable atmosphere. These spaces help connect the structure to the surrounding wooded landscape, which adds a beautiful dimension to the building’s design. The use of natural elements like greenery and photovoltaic panels shows a commitment to sustainability, and I believe this approach will contribute positively to the environmental impact of the project.
As an experienced architect, I would suggest expanding the idea of integrating the art gallery with the local community even further. Perhaps you could consider offering outdoor spaces for temporary installations or sculptures, creating more synergy between the gallery and its environment. This would make the gallery experience more dynamic and allow it to interact with passersby, making the cultural aspect more accessible to everyone, even those who may not immediately enter the gallery.
Furthermore, ensuring that the design is highly accessible for all types of users is crucial. It would be great to explore how to improve the accessibility of the parking areas for those with mobility issues and incorporate more inclusive design elements throughout the building. This might include wider pedestrian paths, accessible elevators, and clear wayfinding signage that caters to a diverse range of visitors.
Lastly, the positioning of the art gallery on the upper floors and the integration of the terraces allows for impressive views, but it might also be worth exploring how to create visual connections between the ground level and the art space, allowing people to view or interact with the artwork from various levels.
Best of luck with your education and future career!
