Hello Renim,
Your design for Galerie Kubismu is thoughtful and well-executed, especially the way you’ve merged geometry, history, and functionality. The concept of using the golden ratio and a diagonal axis to guide visitors throughout the space is impressive, as it not only supports the aesthetic of Cubism but also enhances the user experience. The integration of the historic Vyšehrad wall and sokol hall’s façade creates a meaningful connection to the surrounding environment.
As an experienced architect, I would suggest considering the use of materials that enhance the gallery's acoustics. Concrete is a great choice for its durability and authenticity, but softer surfaces or sound-absorbing panels could help to improve the atmosphere, especially in the communal spaces and café. You might also want to explore more sustainable design practices, such as passive solar heating or green roofs, to increase the building's energy efficiency.
Best of luck with your education and future career—this project is a beautiful blend of art and architecture!
Dear Dulanja Mudannayaka,
thank you for your advice, acoustics is something I didn’t really think about as I thought that the non load bearing walls would be enough, im sure that is something I should have thought through better.
