The main idea of ​​the project is to create a cultural space that will fill the gap in theatrical services in the Komarovsky Proezd area in the center of St. Petersburg. Initially, the site was intended for a high-rise building, but it was decided to build a drama theater, which will become not only an architectural landmark, but also an important cultural center.

The project is aimed at harmoniously combining with the historical environment of the city, offering residents and tourists unique cultural events and art exhibitions. The building stands out for its original architectural style, reminiscent of the Peter and Paul Fortress, and has the shape of a maple leaf, symbolizing the autumn motifs of St. Petersburg.

According to the urban development analysis, there are no theaters within a radius of one kilometer from the site, although there are entertainment and art exhibition facilities. It is also noted that on the eastern side, residents do not have enough cultural infrastructure. There are many public transport stops near the site, and in the near future a metro line will be built, which will make visiting the theater more convenient.

The site is characterized by heavy traffic, so the project includes pedestrian bridges across the road for comfortable movement. Two bridges lead visitors directly to the theater, and the third connects two park areas.

The planned drama theatre will be located on a 4.5 hectare site where the Okhta River flows into the Neva. The building has four floors above ground and two underground floors for parking, which includes 520 parking spaces for theater visitors and employees. The theater has two auditoriums: a large one with 1,400 seats and a small one with 400 seats. There are artistic blocks behind the stages, and one of the petals is completely dedicated to the theater administration and employees. There are also public spaces, common areas, and buffets with panoramic glazing.

To preserve the original form outlined in the general plan, it was decided to add two petals with several functional purposes. One of the important aspects is the view function: these petals offer a panoramic view of the Neva, Smolny Cathedral, and the Okhta River. The first floor plan shows the entrance to the underground parking and a separate entrance for employees.

According to the general plan and sections, the theater is designed to have a double-height space, where daylight penetrates through the roof, illuminating the hall, glass corridors and panoramic windows facing three sides. This will create a unique atmosphere of immersion in the historical space of St. Petersburg for visitors.

The most important part of the theatre’s architecture are the load-bearing walls made of reinforced concrete. This material guarantees high strength and stability of the structure, allowing it to withstand significant loads from the floors and roof. The use of reinforced concrete contributes to the durability and reliability of the building, ensuring the safety of spectators and employees. The comfort of visitors largely depends on the quality of the internal microclimate. Special ventilation ducts are provided inside the walls of the theatre, providing effective natural ventilation. This creates optimal conditions for spectators, contributing to a pleasant time spent in the hall. To achieve a high level of acoustics in the auditoriums, special attention is paid to soundproofing. The walls of the theatre will have soundproofing properties, which minimizes the impact of external noise on the performances. This allows spectators to fully immerse themselves in the atmosphere of art, without being distracted by sounds from the street. Panoramic glass inserts in the walls of the theatre will create a light atmosphere inside and allow spectators to enjoy views of the surrounding landscape. These solutions help connect the interior space with nature, bringing an element of openness and freedom. Energy efficiency of the building is a relevant aspect of modern construction. The walls of the theater will have a high level of thermal insulation, which will reduce heating costs and create a comfortable temperature in the room at any time of the year. To provide additional protection from seismic impacts, monolithic structures will be used in places with high loads. This ensures the safety and durability of the building in various natural factors. The appearance of the theater also plays an important role, and decorative facade panels made of composite materials will be used for its design. Such panels not only protect the building from atmospheric influences, but also give it a modern and aesthetically attractive appearance. Metal slats in the color of wood, used for cladding the large and small halls from the facade, complete the overall design, giving the theater a stylish and modern look. Thus, the theater project combines innovative construction technologies, environmental principles and aesthetic qualities, creating a unique space for art and culture.
