The project for a 300-car parking facility in Tomsk by Яна Ильменева presents a thoughtful architectural solution that balances practicality with a modern design approach. The emphasis on functionality combined with an original form helps the structure stand out while integrating well within the urban environment.

Special attention to accessibility is a strong point of this project. Inclusion of disabled parking spaces, ramps, and convenient entrances shows a commendable commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all users. This focus ensures that the facility is not only functional but also socially responsible.

Material choices such as concrete and glass provide a contemporary aesthetic and durability suitable for an urban parking structure. The use of glass could help soften the massiveness of concrete, contributing to a lighter and more inviting presence in the cityscape.

Areas for Improvement:

Consider enhancing the environmental sustainability of the design by incorporating green technologies such as solar panels, green walls, or rainwater harvesting systems to reduce the building’s ecological footprint.

Exploring natural ventilation or daylighting strategies could improve energy efficiency and user comfort inside the parking structure.

Introducing clear signage and intuitive circulation patterns can further improve user experience and safety within the facility.

Adding some green landscaping around or on the building could soften the concrete mass and enhance the visual integration with surrounding areas.
