This project demonstrates a thoughtful architectural attitude, where concept, spatial experience, and environmental performance are closely interwoven. The use of coral as a generative system—rather than a superficial metaphor—is one of the project’s strongest qualities, clearly influencing form, structure, envelope, and internal organization. The architectural language feels cohesive and grounded in its context, responding well to the landscape and climatic conditions of the Red Sea environment. The program is handled with sensitivity and awareness, particularly in how spaces transition from public to private and from active to contemplative. The project successfully creates an atmosphere of calm and protection, which is essential given its target users. The drawings and visualizations reflect a high level of control and intention, allowing the jury to clearly understand both the spatial logic and experiential qualities of the design.Overall, this is a mature academic project that goes beyond formal experimentation and engages with social, environmental, and experiential dimensions in a convincing architectural manner.
My advice is to further refine the architectural clarity of the project by slightly reducing the conceptual density and allowing the spatial hierarchy to become more legible. In some areas, the strength of the idea risks overshadowing the simplicity of movement and orientation; clarifying circulation and reinforcing a clear spatial sequence would significantly enhance the user experience.Additionally, the project would benefit from a more explicit discussion of sustainability in practical terms, particularly regarding material sourcing and long-term environmental responsibility. Addressing these aspects architecturally—through construction logic, detailing, or lifecycle thinking—would strengthen the project’s realism without diminishing its conceptual ambition. Finally, a selective reduction of textual explanations on the boards, paired with stronger emphasis on key diagrams and sections, would allow the architecture itself to communicate more confidently.
