A beautifully contextual proposal that reinterprets traditional Zambian spatial culture into a contemporary educational environment. The radial layout, symbolic central hall, and sensitive material palette evoke belonging and social cohesion. The integration of vernacular wisdom with passive environmental strategies results in a design that feels both timeless and rooted—a celebration of learning through community.
Future development could explore how the central communal space adapts throughout the day and across seasons, enhancing its flexibility for diverse activities. Adding clearer articulation of construction phases and community participation strategies would further strengthen the project’s narrative of self-sufficiency and empowerment.
