According to the architect's original idea, the entrance to the service hall was located on the side of the central staircase, which is currently completely unused. I propose to return the entrance to the auditorium to its original location. Climbing the majestic snow-white staircase and opening the doors, we immediately find ourselves in the concert hall. To the left of the entrance there is a place for a security guard and a supervisor, and to the right there is a staircase for climbing to the mezzanine floor. It's like there's an electronic organ on the podium. Dozens of thin tube lanterns, imitating organ pipes, descend from the ceiling, forming a symbolic art object. After entering the hall, we can leave our outerwear on the rail at the entrance and comfortably sit in the audience seats. The interiors of the hall are close to the original ones. Wide stepped white columns with high cornices rise up, supporting the weight of the ceiling structures, consisting of an interweaving of pointed arches and ribs. The columns feature sculptures of saints bowed in prayer, as if blessing the space around them. The sculptures stand on carved pedestals, and a decorative element like a penacle is fixed above each figure like a crown. To the right of the stage, on one of the columns, there is an ambo, a balcony–shaped structure designed for preaching or church singing. Every detail, from the heavy base to the airy finish, seems to reach for the sky, turning the architecture into a frozen prayer.
In order to attract even more attention to the church building, it was decided to place a cafe on the ground floor. The entrance to the cafe is isolated and does not contradict either the flow of students or the audience who came to the event. The cafe is small and elongated in length, in order to increase the seating, it was decided to place tables around the columns, the rest of the seats are located along the walls. The walls next to the tables are softly illuminated by warm light that streams from arched niches decorated with finely carved images of the Catholic cross. The ceilings in the church are made of Monier floors, which gives the rooms an unusual geometry. According to the archives, azure porcelain stoneware with carpets made of Metlakh tiles is laid on the floor of the cafe. The columns are lined with a combination of textures: small-format tiles, wooden veneer and 3D panels with floral relief, creating a play of light and shadow.
There is a small outdoor terrace near the entrance to the cafe, where visitors can sit with a cup of coffee and admire the forecourt. Small sofas are located in the niches between the buttresses, creating a sense of privacy even in the very center of the city bustle. Fabric awnings are stretched over the windows, and colorful wrought-iron lanterns are fixed on the facade of the building.
The entrance to the Prometheus Club for students remains in the same place. It was decided to demolish the security guard's room and wardrobe and place a spacious student-study area in their place. Since the technical university and students spend a lot of time at computers, there is a long desktop along the wall with a large number of windows. The columns are surrounded by soft seating areas and decorated with mirrors to visually blend into the space.
After passing through the corridor, we enter the library. Her presence here is not accidental. The library is symbolically located directly under the altar. The geometry of the cabinets rises from the walls and continues on the ceiling, forming arches, in order to support the geometry of the Gothic vaults. Cozy niches for private reading are built in among the bookshelves. The center of attraction in the space has become a massive round table for collaboration, above which an airy chandelier art object hovers.
The complex of the Polish church consists of two buildings, the temple itself and the annex – the Priest's house, connected by a passage. It is here that it is proposed to place student clubs. Students can enter the club both through the main entrance of the Prometheus Club and through the entrance to the Priest's house.
