This project skillfully balances the rich historical value of the Záhradky castle with thoughtful modern interventions. The use of a glass roof is a particularly elegant solution, allowing the preservation of the castle’s original form while introducing contemporary materials that add lightness and transparency. The concept of the “grass garden” and flexible exhibition spaces demonstrates a sensitive approach to landscape design that respects the site’s identity while inviting new experiences. Overall, the project successfully creates a vibrant, multifunctional space that honors the past and meets the needs of today’s community, making it both culturally significant and socially engaging.
As a suggestion, it would be beneficial to further explore ways to enhance the engagement between the historical elements and the new additions through interactive or educational features. Incorporating technology or interpretative installations could deepen visitors’ understanding and appreciation of the castle’s history while enjoying the modern amenities. Additionally, considering sustainable materials and energy-efficient solutions throughout the renovation could strengthen the project’s environmental responsibility, aligning with contemporary best practices in heritage preservation. Keep pushing the dialogue between old and new to create a truly immersive and dynamic experience.
