This project presents a striking and poetic architectural vision that fuses cultural heritage with contemporary design. The concept of referencing the 45-degree orientation of historic buildings and carrying this motif through to the column grid is a clever and thoughtful gesture that pays homage to the past while innovating for the future. The integration of traditional Arab market typologies through segmented blocks and shaded streets successfully captures the spirit of place and brings a…

This project demonstrates a poetic integration of architecture and landscape, beautifully embracing the Mediterranean context through the concept of the "Triad." The terraced layout, green roofs and use of local stone are commendable choices that align with sustainable and contextual design principles. The overall masterplan also reflects a strong sensitivity to topography. As a constructive note, further articulation of circulation and hierarchy between public and private zones could enhance…

This project is a vibrant and intellectually rich exploration of architecture as an immersive, multisensory experience. The design pushes boundaries through its bold conceptual grounding in the philosophy of touch—drawing on Juhani Pallasmaa’s theory to craft a space that is deeply experiential, emotionally resonant, and spatially dynamic. The scaffolding-like skeletal structure, layered with undulating floors and artistic artifacts, transforms the building into a vertical journey through art…

This project stands out as a deeply moving and socially responsive architectural proposition, rooted in cultural resilience and gender equity. It is commendable how the student intertwines architectural design with an activist spirit, particularly in empowering women through spatial agency. The narrative is not only timely given the socio-political context of Iran but also deeply grounded in the lived realities of rural communities. The tribute to Khadijeh and the women of Khij village adds an…

This project is a compelling example of how architectural ingenuity can breathe new meaning into the most overlooked and utilitarian of spaces. “Back to the Adobe” reimagines the public toilet not simply as a facility but as an integrated spatial experience that enhances the social, architectural and sensory qualities of the surrounding academic environment. The decision to transform the central toilet spaces in the Department of Architecture building into gender neutral, multifunctional zones…

The conceptual design for the Svilengrad Historical Museum is a rich and commendable response to both place and purpose. As a jury, we find the integration of architectural clarity with cultural depth to be particularly successful. Rooted in the layered urban and historical fabric of Svilengrad adjacent to landmarks like the Roman “Via Diagonalis” and the 500 year old pedestrian bridge the project succeeds in shaping not only a museum but a civic landmark that embodies history while projecting…

The proposed Svilengrad Historical Museum is a masterfully conceived project that does more than simply preserve history, it actively dialogues with it. This conceptual design elegantly balances cultural memory, high-tech sustainability and contextual urban integration, offering a compelling vision for how heritage architecture can shape a city’s contemporary cultural identity. The volume-spatial solution is both monumental and restrained. The museum’s rhythmic facade of vertical fins,…

This mixed-use student center stands as a poetic and deeply considered response to the needs of contemporary campus life, interpreted through the meditative lens of Peter Zumthor’s architectural philosophy. The design is rooted in the tactile, the atmospheric, and the contextual drawing from its surroundings not only in material palette but in spirit, offering a place of retreat, interaction and intellectual nourishment. What distinguishes this proposal is its sensitivity to the emotional and…
