Work description

We are seeking a professional to support Greenhouse Gas Inventory projects, with an emphasis on Scope 3 applications in initiatives related to Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). The main responsibilities include conducting Greenhouse Gas Inventory projects, adapting and developing methodologies for Scope 3 accounting across various Brazilian industries, and LCA modeling, focusing on carbon footprint analysis and other comprehensive life cycle indicators for diverse products. Candidates with training and/or experience in carbon credit and carbon sequestration projects will be considered an asset. The professional’s responsibilities will encompass the following stages: Participation in alignment meetings to address the specific needs of the industry; Preparation of detailed and assertive technical proposals; Conducting Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventories; Optimization of processes focused on emission reductions; Development of strategic emission reduction plans and establishment of clear and measurable mitigation targets.1. Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventory Development:• Conduct GHG inventories, with a focus on Scope 3 emissions, across various industrialsectors in Brazil.• Adapt and develop methodologies for Scope 3 accounting, considering sector-specificchallenges and international best practices.• Collect and analyze data to quantify emissions from supply chains, transportation, productuse, and disposal.• Ensure compliance with national and international protocols, such as the GHG Protocol andISO 14064.2. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Modeling:• Develop and refine LCA models for diverse products, focusing on carbon footprint analysisand additional life cycle indicators.• Interpret LCA results to provide actionable insights for emission reduction strategies.• Support the integration of LCA methodologies into corporate sustainability initiatives.3. Emission Reduction Strategies:• Identify optimization opportunities in processes to minimize carbon emissions.• Develop strategic plans for emission reductions, establishing clear and measurablemitigation targets.• Support companies in aligning with sustainability goals, such as Science-Based Targets(SBTi) and net-zero commitments.4. Technical and Strategic Support:• Participate in alignment meetings with industry stakeholders to understand specificsustainability challenges and requirements.• Prepare detailed and assertive technical proposals for GHG inventory and LCA projects.5. Research and Innovation in Carbon Management:• Monitor emerging trends and regulatory changes related to carbon accounting, carboncredits, and sequestration projects.• Support the development of methodologies for carbon offsetting and sequestrationinitiatives.• Review scientific and policy literature to enhance internal knowledge and technicalcapabilities.• Contribute to the innovation of sustainability solutions, integrating new technologies anddata analytics into carbon management practices.
