As a leading global supplier of laboratory equipment and solutions for chemical-pharmaceutical research, food and feed, and environmental analysis, we create added value for our customers and the society.We are offering an exciting internship opportunity within our innovative product development team focused on near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy. We are looking for a motivated intern to support us across hardware-related areas, including physics, spectroscopy, and optics, while also assisting in project coordination tasks.You will work alongside experienced researchers (mainly physicists, optical engineers and data scientists), gaining hands-on experience in optical system design, with a particular focus on spectroscopic instrumentation. This role offers the chance to engage with both internal development teams and external partners in optics and systems engineering.Your responsibilities will include helping to draft requirement specifications and functional briefs for work packages assigned to internal teams or external service providers. You’ll also contribute to reviewing and verifying technical deliverables.The role involves close collaboration with multiple disciplines and offers direct exposure to the full R&D process.Your Tasks- Plan and execute test campaigns for optical components and subsystems with a strong sense of ownership.- Document your work and analyse test results, always aligned with project goals.- Collaborate closely with external suppliers and development partners, keeping communication clear and effective.- Verify and evaluate the performance of externally sourced components and systems.- Contribute your insights to interdisciplinary project teams, bringing physics, optics, and data together.- Help define and refine instrument requirement documents, shaping future system designs.- Explore and assess new technologies that could enhance future products.- Serve as a hands-on problem solver in production, ensuring technical issues are addressed quickly and effectively.Salary depending on your level of study.
