Food Waste Valorization InnovatorOverview:Immerse yourself in a cutting-edge research initiative focused on converting food waste into high-value biocomposites. By exploring innovative green extraction techniques, you’ll extract bioactive compounds and cellulose from specific food waste streams, leading to sustainable applications in areas such as functional foods, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics.Objectives:1)Identify and characterize food waste sources that are rich in bioactive compounds and cellulose.2)Develop and refine optimized green extraction methods aimed at maximizing the yield of bioactive compounds while minimizing environmental impact.3)Assess the quality and purity of extracted compounds to ensure their suitability for diverse applications.Outcomes:1)Gain hands-on experience in advanced analytical techniques used for the identification and quantification of bioactive compounds.2)Develop proficiency in green extraction methodologies and process optimization.3)Acquire in-depth knowledge related to biocomposite development and the evaluation of functional properties.Intern’s Responsibilities:1)Conduct comprehensive literature reviews and experimental research to identify food waste sources suitable for extraction.2)Apply chromatography and spectrophotometry techniques to analyze and characterize bioactive compounds.3)Design, implement, and optimize experiments targeting green extraction methods for selected waste materials and compounds.
