Work description

Project Title: Designing a Functional Plasmonic Probe for Microbial Molecular ProfilingDetailed Project Description: This project aims to design a cost-effective engineered probe for molecular microbial profiling. Developing a drug with high therapeutic efficacy and antibacterial properties presents significant challenges. The DNA of bacteria will be extracted and analyzed to inform drug design. There is a pressing need for efficient and cost-effective methods to identify bacteria through their DNA using label-free detection. This research will focus on developing a probe for the label-free detection of bacterial DNA, facilitating advancements in microbial profiling and drug development.Outcomes of the Project:• Understand thin-film deposition and nanolithography processes.• Functionalize the surfaces.• Gain expertise in DC Magnetron Sputtering and E-beam Thermal Evaporation techniques.Expected Results: A cost-effective functional probe for microbial molecular profiling will be developed.
