This project is an exceptional demonstration of how architectural restoration can serve as both preservation and evolution. By thoughtfully reconstructing the upper epitheater and integrating an archaeological museum beneath, the design successfully transforms a monumental heritage site into a vibrant cultural and educational hub. The intervention respects the ancient geometry of the theater while intelligently layering modern functions, circulation and structural systems.
The museum design is particularly commendable the radial metal framing and diffused natural lighting create a serene and immersive exhibition experience, while the seamless transition from enclosed galleries to an open green roof blurs the boundary between built and natural environments. Technically, the proposal shows clarity in its structural rationale, accessibility planning and site integration, with careful attention to user flow and adaptive reuse.
This is a sensitive and visionary proposal that honors the legacy of the site while ensuring its relevance for generations to come. A masterful blend of memory and innovation.
