This proposal demonstrates an outstanding philosophical and contextual depth, engaging in a rich dialogue between nature, culture, myth and architecture. The conceptual foundation rooted in the symbolism of Prometheus and the four classical elements offers a poetic framework that elevates the architectural intervention beyond form making into a thoughtful narrative of revitalization, community and temporal evolution. The use of traditional Croatian dry stone walling not only respects UNESCO recognized heritage, but cleverly reinterprets it as both a spatial and societal catalyst for regenerative development.
The formal language of the villas, derived from careful terrain analysis and stone morphology, shows great sensitivity toward site specific design. The organic transformation of plan and massing, clearly shown in the shape study and transformation diagrams, demonstrates a rigorous and layered design process. It’s commendable how each villa is thoughtfully positioned for solar gain and sea views, while also integrating elements like green roofs, productive land and terraces that strengthen sustainability and self-sufficiency.
Constructively, while the poetic narrative is powerful, a more explicit articulation of the phasing or construction strategy over time especially in terms of how the “fire spreads” through the site could enhance the clarity of implementation. A stronger visual connection between the philosophical allegory and specific spatial gestures would further strengthen the argument. Additionally, environmental performance data or material detailing would anchor the vision in technical feasibility.
Nonetheless, this is a highly evocative and intellectually ambitious project that successfully intertwines mythology, ecology and architecture to imagine a living, evolving community. It captures the spirit of place while daring to propose a new future deeply rooted, yet forward looking. Congratulations on this compelling and memorable work.
