This proposal envisions a coastal development in Starigrad, Croatia, characterized by simple, functional architecture inspired by classicism. The design emphasizes the use of natural materials such as stone and wood, aiming to create a harmonious integration with the surrounding environment. The project's commitment to sustainability is evident in its focus on minimizing environmental impact through the use of renewable materials and local resources.
The masterplan includes diverse zones: three-story apartment buildings, private one-story villas, a marina, and a coastal zone, all designed to provide comprehensive amenities for tourists, including restaurants, cultural facilities, and sports areas. This holistic approach seeks to offer visitors an immersive experience of the region's natural and cultural heritage.
While the project's conceptual framework is commendable, further development in architectural detailing and spatial articulation would enhance its feasibility and impact. Detailed plans illustrating circulation, material choices, and construction methods would provide a more comprehensive understanding of the design's functionality.
Overall, the "STARIGRAD TOURIST SETTLEMENT" presents a thoughtful integration of cultural heritage and sustainable design principles. With additional refinement in design execution and technical detailing, it has the potential to serve as a model for context-sensitive coastal development.
