This proposal offers a thoughtful and well-contextualized design for an incubator center in Tripoli, Lebanon—an underserved region in comparison to the tech-focused capital, Beirut. The concept integrates principles of Biophilic Design to create a work environment that promotes creativity, well-being, and sustainable growth for emerging startups. The inward-facing design, responding to the dense urban fabric and limited natural exposure, is successfully resolved through the inclusion of a central courtyard, which serves as both a microclimatic regulator and a vibrant social core.
The division of functional zones into “Create” and “Share” reflects a clear understanding of startup ecosystem needs—providing differentiated yet collaborative environments. The dynamic curved green roof and vertical screens offer spatial variety and visual interest, while biophilic elements support psychological comfort and environmental performance.
However, the architectural language, while functionally solid, remains relatively conventional in elevation and material articulation. A deeper exploration of structural expression, tactile quality, and user experience—particularly in relation to shading, acoustics, and thermal performance—would elevate the overall design impact.
Overall, this is a contextually responsive and programmatically strong incubator proposal with good potential. It demonstrates solid design thinking and environmental awareness, though it could benefit from further refinement in architectural detailing and experiential richness.
Dear Tamer ElSerafi,
I sincerely appreciate your time and the valuable feedback on my project. Thank you.
Kind regards,
