In the face of rapid urbanization and population growth in the Philippines, Bacoor, Cavite, struggles with significant challenges. These include increasing waste production and the lack of open and social spaces. Project Reloop seeks to address these pressing issues by integrating waste facilities and green spaces.

The project aims to redefine urban living, turning waste into a resource while providing green areas for community enjoyment. It also seeks to remove negative perceptions associated with combining waste-related facilities and community spaces. Advanced waste processing technologies will reduce reliance on landfills, while educational initiatives empower residents. Community engagement promotes a sense of ownership, transforming the integrated complex into a hub for social interaction. Beyond Bacoor, Project Reloop aims to set a model for environmentally conscious urban development, aligning with CALABARZON Regional Plan and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The vision behind Project Reloop is to create a blend of environmental sustainability and community well-being. This integrates two different elements: a solid waste management facility and a community park. By integrating waste processing infrastructure with recreational green spaces, the design intent is to achieve multiple goals all at once.

Waste Management Efficiency
The integrated waste facilities will streamline waste collection, sorting, and recycling processes. This efficiency will help address the increasing waste challenges faced by rapidly urbanizing areas like Bacoor City.

Community Engagement
The community park serves as more than just green space. It becomes a hub for education, awareness, and active participation. Residents can learn about waste reduction, composting, and sustainable practices while enjoying leisure activities.

Urban Resilience
At a time of urban sprawl, open spaces are lacking. The park provides a much-needed place for relaxation, exercise, and social interaction. At the same time, waste management resilience contributes to the overall environmental health of the city.

Project Reloop integrates design strategies to integrate waste management and community well-being. The entire complex is constructed using modular materials, ensuring efficiency, flexibility, and sustainability. Its reflective glass facade creates a visual connection between the built environment and the natural landscape, allowing the greenery of the park to be reflected on the facade. Additionally, the louvers enhance natural ventilation, control sunlight, and protect against external elements. All which contributes to the aesthetic appeal of the building.
