Your presentation was very well-structured and easy to follow, with a clear narrative that guided us through your design intentions. The combination of strong visuals, well-rendered images, and detailed plans gave us a real sense of how the spaces would feel and function. What stood out immediately was how thoughtfully you handled the site—respecting the historical weight of Santa Caterina Castle while introducing a new layer of modern architecture. That balance is not easy to strike, but you did it with boldness and care.
Your concept and statements were compelling. Turning a centuries-old castle into a spiritual retreat isn’t just imaginative—it’s meaningful. Not everyone would take the risk of merging old and new so directly, and that courage paid off here. The external staircase solution, in particular, was smart; it keeps the castle’s interior intact while still improving accessibility. The radial layout of the accommodations blending into the landscape is another strong point—it’s flexible, organic, and future-focused. You clearly thought about how the center could evolve over time and serve its users in different ways.
Thank you, Mahsa Bagherifard, and congratulations for being part of the Inspirele Architecture Competition. You brought a sensitive, well-researched, and forward-thinking proposal to the table. This project shows how architecture can be a tool for healing and reflection, and we appreciate how you used design to create not just a space, but an experience. Great work—we hope to see more from you in the future.
