This project stands out as a highly specialized, socially engaged architectural intervention that thoughtfully addresses the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs of children and adolescents with ADHD. Rooted in detailed psychological research, the design transcends the conventional boundaries of healthcare architecture by integrating therapeutic, educational, and communal zones into a coherent spatial framework.
The dual-zoned layout—comprising a publicly accessible community center and a clinically focused therapeutic wing—supports both destigmatization and focused care. The spatial organization is carefully calibrated to levels of activity, sensory engagement, and user flow, aligning architectural form with neurodivergent behavior patterns. The inclusion of varied therapy environments (e.g., music, art, talk, nature immersion) reflects a holistic and inclusive design philosophy.
Materially, the project employs reinforced concrete and metal systems with mat footings, tailored to a site near water, showing structural awareness. The spatial rhythm, visual permeability, and variety of sensory environments further enhance the project's therapeutic capacity.
Overall, this is an exemplary, user-centered architectural proposal that merges clinical precision with spatial empathy—making it a pioneering model in the realm of mental health and neurodivergent architectural design.
