Your project, CHEROKEE NATIVE AMERICAN ARCHAEOLOGICAL WELCOME CENTER, presents a compelling and purposeful vision, harmonizing cultural preservation with scientific exploration. The presentation is well-structured, with clear zoning of spaces and thoughtful planning that considers both public and private functions. The sequencing of levels—from the welcoming lobby and public-facing exhibits down to the private dormitories and research lab—demonstrates a strong narrative and user-oriented design flow. The renders convey the architectural intent well, and the floor plans are clearly labeled and functionally laid out to support the story behind the design.
Your project statement is particularly commendable; it clearly conveys the building’s dual purpose and how it thoughtfully serves both the Cherokee community and the scientific field. The symbolic use of materials—concrete, glass, and birch wood—as “ribbons” wrapping through the design is conceptually elegant and enhances the cultural narrative. The incorporation of site access to an excavation area further grounds the project in its mountainous North Carolina context, creating a powerful link between place, memory, and knowledge.
To further elevate the visual impact of your presentation, consider enhancing the realism of the vegetation in your renderings. Adding more lifelike textures and densities can help contextualize the building within its natural setting. Including people in your renderings will also bring the spaces to life, illustrating scale and human interaction.
Thank you, Nathalie Quinteros, and congratulations for joining the Inspireli Competition—your project shows a strong design vision and a meaningful purpose that bridges heritage and innovation beautifully.
Dear Franc Obguia, thank you very much for taking the time in providing feedback to my work. I appreciate it and will take time in revising and elevating my rendering’s and project. Once again thank you. Best regards, Nathalie.
