The project presents a powerful and sensitive architectural response to a pivotal moment in Malaysia’s history, using a phenomenological design to foster empathy, reflection, and unity. The integration of emotional storytelling through spatial sequences is particularly effective, offering visitors a deeply immersive and balanced understanding of the events. The innovative use of sustainable materials like recycled tarpaulin, LVL, and Timbercrete reflects a strong commitment to environmental responsibility while enhancing the symbolic resilience of the structure. To further strengthen the project, it is recommended to consider more detailed visitor flow studies to ensure emotional pacing aligns with the intended narrative journey, and to explore opportunities for interactive or community-led exhibits that could deepen public engagement. Overall, this project skillfully balances memory, education, and sustainability, making it a meaningful addition to Malaysia’s cultural landscape.
