This project presents a thoughtful and culturally grounded approach to revitalizing Ivo Lola Ribar Street. I really appreciate how it honors the area's rich shoemaking heritage while introducing a fresh, contemporary urban vision. The use of a modular grid system is a smart design move—it creates a clear spatial structure while encouraging interaction and flexibility, effectively bridging the traditional and the modern.
The visuals and renders are especially striking. They don’t just communicate the design well—they make a bold statement and add a strong sense of identity to the entire area. It’s easy to imagine how this intervention could reinvigorate the neighborhood and bring new life to its streetscape.
The sustainable features, like green roofs and permeable surfaces, show an awareness of today’s environmental responsibilities, and the choice of materials—mixing concrete with natural wood and stone—creates a beautiful balance between strength and warmth.
Thank you, Sara Derić, for sharing this impressive work and for participating in the Inspireli Competition. Your project stands out for its clarity, sensitivity, and forward-thinking design.
Dear Franc Obguia, thank you so much for your kind words and support! I’m glad you recognized the balance between tradition and a contemporary approach, as well as the importance of sustainability in the project. Your comment means a lot and gives me extra motivation to keep going.
