This project is highly original and intellectually provocative. It rethinks the logic of medieval city planning without disturbing the existing urban fabric — lifting a new layer above the village, creating shade, cooling the roofs, improving air quality, and offering a green refuge while leaving the ground level almost untouched. The result is both poetic and pragmatic: a suspended garden that isolates one from the dense streets below yet maintains a visual and emotional connection to the place.
The design is minimalist, elegant, and conceptually powerful. The cross-shaped layout, careful placement of pillars, and subtle visual framing create an almost surreal experience where one feels entirely immersed in greenery, seeing only sky and garden from above. This gesture is not just architectural but urbanistic — a bold reinterpretation of what it means to inhabit and work in a historic town.
For a project of such architectural ambition, it would be valuable to fully adapt the office space for disabled users, including accessible circulation routes and a disabled toilet. Additionally, allocating space for HVAC systems and presenting more technical and structural details — such as how the pillars interact with existing buildings — would further strengthen the project’s feasibility and technical credibility.
Dear Giorgi Gabunia,
thanks for your kind words and especially for your suggestions. I will work on them.
