The idea of this project stems from the desire to create a sensory and cultural journey embedded within the landscape. By inserting a discreet extension into the cliff, the project aims to guide visitors through a sequence of historical, artistic, and emotional experiences — from ancient heritage to contemporary sculpture — culminating in a panoramic viewpoint over the village. This architectural gesture acts both as a passage and a destination, redefining how people approach and interact with the site, while preserving the integrity of the existing château and its surroundings.

This project consists of an underground intervention serving as a cultural pathway for visitors. The main components include:
A gallery carved into the cliff, hosting exhibitions and presenting local history.
A panoramic belvedere overlooking the village, acting as the alternative entrance to the château site directly related to the village.
The restoration and enhancement of the existing frescoes, complemented by a newly added intermediate balcony in the space of the mezzanine and in one of the towers offering an elevated view of the restored frescoes. The design provides a narrative experience, guiding visitors through layers of time and space.

The intervention is designed as a low-impact structure embedded into the cliff's rock, using reinforced concrete and natural stone cladding to blend with the surrounding geology. The interior pathway is climate-controlled and equipped with museum-grade lighting. Structural reinforcements are integrated without disturbing the château’s foundations. The mezzanine is preserved and stabilized, and the new balcony is supported by a concealed cantilever system fixed to existing walls to minimize any visible alteration.
