Growing Workshop:
Construction or adaptation of an existing building to create a mushroom farm, using planting boxes (100x50x25 cm) in three tiers of 10 boxes each. Ensuring a microclimate system (temperature, humidity, ventilation) for optimal mushroom growth. Due to the mushrooms’ susceptibility to disease, two separate cultivation flows have been organized, and the rooms are shielded from direct sunlight. A separate workshop has been developed for substrate preparation. The area within the workshop is divided into stages for substrate production: a straw wetting area, a straw softening area, and a fermentation zone. The sizes of these areas were calculated proportionally based on the amount of compost used (synthetic compost will be used in the following ratio: chicken manure – 200 kg, straw – 200 kg, gypsum – 12 kg, chalk – 3 kg). A total of 15.4 tons of substrate will be required. A road for specialized equipment (tractors, electric cargo carts, and Gazelle vans) connects the two workshops.

To streamline the movement of materials between different stages of production, the design incorporates two elevator systems. Substrate is transported from the production workshop to the basement level using a dedicated elevator. Conversely, harvested mushrooms are efficiently lifted from the growing areas to the sorting and washing room via a separate elevator. These elevators optimize the vertical flow of materials, reducing manual handling and increasing overall operational efficiency
The structural design of the mushroom farm incorporates several key features to ensure efficient operation and durability. The main buildings of the farm are covered with metal trusses, providing a strong and cost-effective roofing solution. This allows for large, clear-span interiors, maximizing usable space within the growing and processing areas.

To mitigate moisture and improve ventilation, all buildings are elevated 30 cm above ground level. This raised foundation helps prevent water damage and ensures a drier, more stable environment.

Within the substrate production building, the floor is constructed of asphalt. The asphalt floor ensures smooth and reliable movement of machinery throughout the substrate preparation process.
