The project presents a compelling vision by seamlessly integrating nature into the architectural fabric of the historic Zahrádky Castle. The idea of plants acting as a living vein throughout the design creates a poetic dialogue between heritage and contemporary interventions. The use of vertical greening, sky gardens, and green belts thoughtfully enhances the spatial experience, bringing life and softness to the robust historical structure. The innovative structural approach, replacing thick partition walls with a column system, is well-considered as it preserves the castle’s character while allowing more natural light and openness inside. However, the project would benefit from a clearer explanation of how the new elements maintain the balance between modern functionality and the preservation of historical authenticity. More detail on the selection and care of plant species, as well as how these natural elements contribute to environmental comfort and sustainability, would strengthen the overall concept and demonstrate a comprehensive approach to integrating architecture and landscape.
To enhance the project, it would be beneficial to provide more detailed visualizations that clearly show how the vertical greening and sky gardens are structurally integrated into the castle’s spaces. Expanding on the choice of plant species and their roles in creating seasonal interest and supporting local biodiversity would deepen the connection between nature and architecture. Additionally, elaborating on the structural innovations, particularly how the new column system preserves historic elements while improving spatial openness, would clarify the technical approach. Addressing maintenance strategies for the indoor and outdoor greenery will ensure the long-term success of the design. Finally, incorporating strategies for natural ventilation and climate control that work in harmony with the planted areas could improve user comfort and sustainability throughout the castle.
